A sexy single dad who lives for his kid and wants me? I’m in a whole lot of trouble…
The first time I saw Will Munroe I had him pegged as a typical LA douchebag—a little too handsome, a little too rich, a little too into his probiotic kale smoothies.
The next time I ran into him—at his daughter’s parent/teacher conference (me: teacher, he: parent)—I noticed his steel grey eyes, his hard chest under a crisp white button down, and his suggestively bare ring finger. I was hooked.
If life really imitated art, he’d have swept me off my feet and taken me right there on the principal’s desk. Instead, we are stuck in our assigned roles. He’s the workaholic single dad of a precocious girl child, and I’m her fiery substitute teacher. Never the two shall meet. Enter one zany, yurt-dwelling ex-wife, a stock market that never sleeps, and some over-the-top, A-list fundraisers, and I’ve got plenty of drama ahead. Better to keep my hands to myself.
But when Will asks me out for a pancake breakfast, how can I resist? My heart (and my stomach) say yes, but am I willing to risk my job for a short stack and a romp in the hay? A slow, sensual, mind-blowing romp in the hay…
But where there’s a Will…

Charming and Quirky Fun
Extra Credit is so good it made me homesick for Los Angeles, which almost never happens! It also had me waxing nostalgic about ridiculous things like spending hours in traffic on the 405 Fwy and rubbing elbows at Whole Foods with celebutants and crunchy granolas sporting artfully coiffed dreads.
Ms. Dunne immerses us in a culture that has been the well-toned butt of jokes for years and she does it in a very realistic yet tongue in cheek way. LA is a sparkly world unto itself and Extra Credit is a fab virtual visit. It is gleefully silly and hilarious as it seamlessly weaves its way through a tender story about attraction, relationships, and families.
Chelle Richardson isn’t totally down with the overly groovy vibe going on at Bay of Dreams elementary school but she’ll do her share of chi cleansing and gong ringing if it lands her a full-time gig teaching drama. Which just might happen if she can wow the parents and faculty with her dolphin-friendly, politically correct, vegan version of Oliver Twist.
Stockbroker Will Monroe isn’t remotely the tie-dye and wheatgrass type but his daughter Amelia attends Bay of Dreams, and he will do anything to keep the peace with his Yurt dwelling ex. Will isn’t quite sure how his life ended up this way but Amelia makes it all worthwhile. And then, through sheer happenstance, he meets Chelle.
I adored this book! It’s so well-written you’ll be caught up in the lives of these characters immediately and before you know it you’ll believe they’re real. The often outrageous escapades are LOL funny and they also serve to keep this story moving forward at a fast clip. The secondary characters add depth and quirky charm. Nothing about this book is a waste of space. Every word works to charm the yoga pants off of you. Namaste, Poppy Dunne!

Review: When A Beta Roars by Eve Langlais
NovellaHow degrading. Stuck babysitting a woman because his alpha said so. As Pride Beta, he has better things to do with his time, like washing his impressive mane, hunting down thugs for fun, and chasing tail—sometimes his own if his lion is feeling playful. But his babysitting job takes an unexpected turn when the woman he’s assigned guard duty over turns out to be his gun-toting mate. Worse she's allergic to cats.
