The Vampire’s Mail Order Bride By Kristen Painter
Genre: Paranormal Romance
Released: June 1, 2015
Publisher: Sugar Skull Books
Series: Nocturne Falls, Book #
Welcome to Nocturne Falls, the town that celebrates Halloween 365 days a year.
The tourists think it’s all a show: the vampires, the werewolves, the witches, the occasional gargoyle flying through the sky. But the supernaturals populating the town know better.
Living in Nocturne Falls means being yourself. Fangs, fur, and all.
After seeing her maybe-mobster boss murder a guy, Delaney James assumes a new identity and pretends to be a mail order bride. She finds her groom-to-be living in a town that celebrates Halloween every day. Weird. But not as weird as what she doesn’t know. Her groom-to-be is a 400-2016-old vampire.
Hugh Ellingham has only agreed to the arranged set up to make his overbearing grandmother happy. In thirty days, whatever bridezilla shows up at his door will be escorted right back out. His past means love is no longer an option. Not if the woman’s going to have a future. Except he never counted on Delaney and falling in love for real.
Too bad both of them are keeping some mighty big secrets…

A sweet Halloween romance.
The Vampire’s Mail Order Bride is a sweet romance. If you’re expecting spicy or scorching hot love scenes you will not find them. However, you will find a very entertaining story. I personally got the Audible narration as well. I enjoyed listening to it on my ride upstate to visit the folks.
Delaney James finds herself in somewhat of a bind when she witnesses her mob boss offing someone. Running scared she lucks into information for a mail order bride matching service and decides to take the place of the bride to be. Unlike the intended bride she has absolutely no clue that the proposed groom is a vampire. So with her cat Captain Underpants in tow, she speeds off to Nocturne Falls where every day is Halloween.
At the machinations and threats of his grandmother, Hugh Ellingham finds himself entertaining a potential bride to be for one month. What he doesn’t expect is to fall head over heels for the human. If there is one prospect Hugh will not contemplate its turning someone. Guilts of the past ride him hard and it’s going to take some major mojo to make him reconsider turning a new bride.
While Delaney and Hugh decide to give a relationship a real go, the length of the relationship is up in the air as long as Hugh refuses to turn his bride. Complicating matters, Delaney’s ex-boss is hot on her heels. The Vampire’s Mail Order Bride is a quick read/listen that will entertain you with its quirky characters, sweet romance and a bit of suspense.

Erotic RomanceMs. Dohmer’s books while character driven also espouse excellent world building, an ongoing series arc I love, and some of the best and the worst displays of humanity. The irony in that is that the very best of humanity is seen in the new species a group of ruthless scientists have created.
