Edge of your seat hot!

You know how you sit reading a book with a really evil villain and you just know at some point he is going to get his hands on the heroine? You read all these hot and steamy emotionally ridden scenes and the angst and anticipation just keeps building. You can’t possibly put the book down but your eyes droop and remind you how many hours you’ve been awake. Grrr, I hate putting a book down to catch some shut eye. That was my dilemma last night. I absolutely didn’t want to put down Fire no matter how much my body craved sleep. Alas, the body won out and now I’m off to finish squirming on the edge of my seat.

When Ice ended it was on a total cliff hanger with Kaleb in enemy hands and Jade doing a total freak out at leaving him behind. Fire takes up where Ice left off. Being in the hands of your enemy is bad enough, finding out you’ve been betrayed by those closest to you is worse. When your betrayer slips away in the chaos of your rescue, you know he’s put a target on those you hold most dear. Now Kaleb is forced to weigh his respect for Jade’s skill as a soldier and his undeniable need to keep her safe. But the minute he puts Jade on lockdown he’s stirred a hornet’s nest. Jade is no wilting violet that will take sitting on her laurels lightly.

Watching the man she loves beyond anything strung up at the mercy of their enemies was a total green flag on Jade’s take no prisoner attitude. Enemies in her crosshairs and guns blazing, Jade charges to the rescue. Now after some serious recovery, she’s watching Kaleb slip away into secretive mode. She knows he’s shutting her out. She knows he’s trying to protect her. If there is one thing Jade has always fought for in her career it’s respect. Being shut out and treated like a civilian is the nail in the coffin of her relationship as far as Jade is concerned. And everytime he take her in his arms it just makes it that much tougher because damn does she love this man.

Once again Ms. Coopmans and Ms. Storm have delivered an action packed, on the edge of your seat read. The characters are absolutely compelling. The danger is looming. And the heat… good lord bring a towel. Can’t wait to see what these two will collaborate on next, sure hope it’s another for the Elite Forces series.
