Old world warrior, new world order and a love that transcends
A hero worshipped…
Brooke Valen has resigned herself to a life of adoring Samsyn Cimarron from afar. The massive warrior has been her knight in shining armor since the night she and her family arrived on the island of Arcadia, forced to take new identities and blend into the strange new land to avoid a terrorist’s bounty on her father’s head. Though Brooke has grown into a woman and devoted herself to learning battle tactics in order to earn Syn’s respect, it is clear he’ll see her as nothing more than the scrawny teen who washed up on his shore six years ago.
A prince scarred…
Samsyn Cimarron has all but taken a sacred oath never to marry. Disillusioned by the sham of his parents’ union, fairytale love is nothing but a concept for dreamers and story books. Instead, Syn has devoted himself to things he can control, like his country’s security—and a long string of one-night lovers. But when Brooke Valen serves on his temporary security detail and almost dies in the doing, all his careful mandates are shattered—and one night of naked passion with her doesn’t feel like enough. But it has to be. His desires are dark and wicked, unworthy of a beauty like Brooke.
A fate sealed…
When Arcadia’s security hinges on Samsyn taking a bride, he reluctantly seals the deal with Brooke—but vows that even his ring on her finger won’t make him take her body again.
A love realized?
Though married to the man of her dreams, Brooke has never felt more alone in her life. Is the flame of their love strong enough to shatter Samsyn’s darkness? Can the beauty of her soul reach to the beast in his? Or will she have to prove her love by confronting the assassin who’s been sent to finish off her family for good?

Old world warrior, new world order and a love that transcends
Into his Command takes place on an island kingdom. While this island is present in the current day it espouses old traditions and values. It may have updated plumbing and electricity but in many ways, it’s people are still kicking and screaming in protest as they are led into the twentieth century. Six years ago, the Valen’s home in Vermont was brutally attacked. As far as the world knows, the Valens perished. Instead, they were offered sanctuary by the King of Arcadia. Brooke fell helplessly in love with Prince Samsyn the night he met their plane on the tarmac. Knowing her dreams are so far out of the scope of reality she’s become his friend and one of the elite personal guards of the kingdom. Rumors say Syn has a type… the dark haired, one-night stand type. Brooke in all of her blonde glory has no hopes of even seeing one night in his arms. Instead, she endeavors to build her place in his world with her dedication to the elite guards. Then Samsyn’s brother, the new King of Arcadia and his betrothed decide to tour the kingdom and host a ball that requires amped up security. The perfect opportunity for dissidents to attack. The once seemingly impossible opportunity for Brooke and Syn to come together.
Brooke has always challenged Samsyn’s vows to never fall for a woman. From the moment he met her, he’s wanted her. The fearful eighteen-year-old standing defiantly in the face of devastation on the tarmac… she touches something inside no one else can. And now the heat between them is burning him alive. He may be a prince but he’s a man too and Brooke is beyond temptation. When she is injured in an attack Syn is beside himself. When the security of Arcadia demands that he take Brooke as a bride, he does his duty. While he may claim he’ll never love her, his possessive actions say the complete opposite. He may think the ruse is temporary but the heart knows otherwise. This stoic warrior prince has met his match and she’s about to teach him to look beyond the sour history of his parents to a future that only they can determine.
Into His Command has the romantic suspense and intrigue I’ve come to expect from Ms. Payne. It definitely has the heat. Looks like I’m going to have to add another book to my TBR pile because I’m certainly going to have to read Into His Dark. If you’re worried about reading the second before the first, no worries. Into His Command is easily read as a stand alone. Apparently this series continues in November with Into Her Fantasies. I can’t wait. For those of you who can’t get enough, 1001 Dark Nights will be hosting a spin-off series of novellas called Temptation Court. Naughty Little Gift, the first in the series is due out in July with the second and third due in August and September.

Hi there. I’m Angel: book lover, writing addict, hopeless romantic, pop culture geek and avid shoe lover.
A bit about me…
I’ve been hooked on books since I was a kid but it got worse in my twenties, when I discovered romances–the hotter, the better. Growing up in Southern California, with lots of surfer manliness surrounded me, was certainly a good boost for reading about delicious alpha guys and the women who adore them. When I learned I had a knack for telling these stories too, I guess you could say I was doomed–though my path toward romance novelist took a few detours via a concert-reviewing gig for my college newspaper (free show tickets…backstage passes…that was a no-brainer), artist interviews for a Beverly Hills dance music mag, personal assistant work for a record producer, dance club disc jockey, and a lot of fun in the hospitality industry.
These days, I still live in California, and have found an amazing alpha guy of my own who was brave enough to marry me. We live on a street that looks like Brigadoon, with our beautiful daughter. I have the best life ever, and never forget to thank the Big Guy Upstairs for it, either.

Wow! What a beautiful review! THANK YOU so much for the beautiful words about Samsyn and Brooke–and I really hope you enjoy the spin-off series, as well. It’ll feature Brooke’s palais assistant, Mishella, in a sexy new adventure that takes her to New York.
You’re so welcome Angel. Thank you for feeding my reader with such hot stories.
