“I want someone to want me for who I am. No changing my appearance or philosophies or principles. I need a partner to be proud of me—in public and beyond—and proud of themselves.”
“Think you’ll find it?”
~ ~ ~
Bennet had always dreamed of love. Of finding his Mr. Right.
Hell, he’d even settle for Mr. Righteous.
Who he won’t fall for, not ever? Mr. Downright Pride-less.
~ ~ ~
It’s Pride and Prejudice, complete with scumbaggery, anguished declaration of desire, meddling villagers, Karaoke, Scrabble, and Pride.

I loved it!
After loving the first book in this series, I was sad when I didn’t love book two. I’m wondering now if it was just me and the mood I was in when I read it because I loved book three, Bennet, Pride Before the Fall.
This had everything that I love in an Anyta Sunday book. Super slow burn, UST for a lot of the book, great characters and a wonderful story. This book also gave me more of what I wanted at the end of book two – more about Henry, his sister Georgie, and his relationship with his father. Now, I don’t mean to confuse you, this book is about Bennet, not Henry. But it’s also about Darcy who happens to be Henry and Georgie’s father. But you don’t need to have read any of the previous books to enjoy this one.
Bennet is an out-and-proud man who is caring for his teenage brother, Lyon. Lyon, who is also gay, likes to test his brother’s patience by being overly crass and a PITA a lot of the time (but he redeems himself by the end). Darcy is deep in the closet and in denial about being bi-sexual, but he is drawn to Bennet. We eventually learn the reason for Darcy being the way he is and it kind of broke my heart a little.
Much of the story has Bennet and Darcy tip-toeing around each other but once they stop doing that and open up to each other, things move along pretty quickly.
I have not read any of the classics that this series is based on so I had no preconceived ideas as to how this story should go, unlike some of the critical reviews I noticed. I enjoyed it for what it is, a great slow-burn romance. I’m looking forward to reading the next book in the series.

I’m a big, BIG fan of slow-burn romances. I love to read and write stories with characters who slowly fall in love.
Some of my favorite tropes to read and write are: Enemies to Lovers, Friends to Lovers, Clueless Guys, Bisexual, Pansexual, Demisexual, Oblivious MCs, Everyone (Else) Can See It, Slow Burn, Love Has No Boundaries.
I write a variety of stories, Contemporary MM Romances with a good dollop of emotion, Contemporary lighthearted MM Romances, and even a splash of fantasy.
