Expect: a sizzling hurt/comfort MM romance with a damaged chaplain and a dark-souled enforcer with a tender-hearted secret.
“I gave my darkest secrets to a man who doesn’t exist.”
<strong.Embry
“…you don’t understand.”
Mateo lowered himself to sit, still vibrating with the need to fix me, the way he always did. “Then tell me. Explain it like I’m the simplest idiot you’ve ever met.”
I can’t. I’d never told anyone. Not the judge, the jury, or the legal aid barrister who’d written me off before she’d ever met me. But as I drowned in Mateo’s affection, in a love I’d done nothing to deserve, the words came tumbling out.
Bad words.
Dark words.
Darker than sin.
Darker, even, than Mateo’s battered soul and the secrets I didn’t know about yet.
I thought those words would shatter me.
Shatter us.
But when the devil came for us, it wasn’t mine.
It was Mateo’s, and the man I’d trusted with my fragile heart was a stranger more broken than his scars could ever show.
Forgive Me Father is a continuation of the best-selling Rebel Kings MC series. Content warning for violence and sexual trauma.

5 kept-me-on-the-edge-of-my-seat stars!!
When I first started reading the Rebel Kings MC series, I was a little bit nervous. I never thought I’d like a dark, motorcycle gang romance; I’ve always avoided them before. But I’ll read whatever Garrett Leigh writes and I’m so glad that I didn’t shy away from this series.
Forgive Me Father was a hard one to read in places and, fair warning, it’s pretty violent with descriptive on-page scenes. I don’t have any triggers (at least none that I’ve found so far) but there were things in this story that shook me. However, I was ultimately uplifted by the time I got to the end.
Embry and Mateo both have secrets but whose is the worst? It’s hard to say. Mateo’s secret is the one that impacts the bulk of this story. I really want to say more but I’m not sure how to do that and not give away spoilers. I think I can safely say that people who have helped the Rebel Kings in the past do so again.
I loved learning about other characters in the Rebel Kings and to see Alexei, Saint and Cam continue to be integral to this story and series. I don’t know how many books Garrett has planned for this series but I can see it going on for several more books and I’ll be reading them if it does. We do know that Love They Brother is scheduled for May 2023 and I’m looking forward to reading it.
