What has happened to Mack McAllister?
We were law school rivals.
Absolutely insane in bed.
Our two-year fling ended when we graduated.
He had his ambitions. I had mine.
We were going to slay the competition.
Now he’s sleighing it?
When I stalk him at Riverside Mall, he looks like Santa in every way. White beard. Rosy cheeks. Kid on his knee.
But I know better. That bowl full of jelly is hiding ripped abs.
I’ve been inside that suit.
Something’s happened to the Mack I knew ten years ago.
I don’t know how he feels about me now, but there’s only one way to find out.
Get in there and jingle those bells.

Hot and sexy Rom-Com!
I fell in love with this author’s books when I read my first book written under her Deanna Roy pen name. I’ve read nearly everything she’s written since then but I fell a bit behind a couple of years ago. I am so glad that I was given the opportunity to read an advanced copy of Second Chance Santa. Second chance stories are one of my favorite romance tropes and JJ Knight has written one that is LOL funny in places but also manages go convey important messages about the spirit of Christmas and the benefits of forgiveness.
The story is told in first person POV alternating between Mack and Rory. They were a couple during their last two years of law school and the sexy time was hot and heavy. Rory’s ambition took her away from Mack without letting him know she was leaving. Ten years later Rory is back in L.A. and seeks Mack out only to find him working as Santa in a local mall.
Mack was heartbroken when Rory left him and now that she’s sought him out, he’s not sure his heart can take it if she decides to leave again. He’s not the same person he was in law school; his attitude towards his family has shifted dramatically. He’s not sure if he wants to tell Rory about it and why he changed.
The above two paragraphs might make you think that Second Chance Santa is not going to be the light-hearted rom-com that I mentioned in the first paragraph but it really is. It’s the perfect blend of hot AF sexy time 🔥🔥🔥 and corny jokes with just the right amount of angst. I loved everything about this book and recommend it to anyone who enjoys reading a great second chance romance.
Fans of JJ Knight’s Pickle series will absolutely not want to miss this one. I loved how she incorporated that family into this great story.

O Factor: Spicy
“Santa, is that a dare?” We’re in a room below the Christmas stage. The elves have all gone home.
He holds out his red velvet jacket. He’s already stripped off the fake belly, revealing flat, hard abs. A throaty growl escapes him. “Make me the happiest Santa on earth.”
I accept the jacket and put it on. “What else?”
“Everything off,” he says. “Everything but the jacket. And the heels.”
I finger the soft fur. The mall is closed. Even so, what he’s suggesting is crazy. But it is old Mack-and-Rory. Getting wild in unexpected places.
Mack senses my hesitation. He’s testing the boundaries to see if any bit of old Rory is still beneath my lawyer persona.
He leans against the lockers, a smirk on his face. “Since when have you ever been afraid of a little risk?”
Gauntlet thrown.
