Introducing Mr. Winterbourne:
Lysander Winterbourne appears to lead a charmed life. Handsome, amiable, and a renowned sportsman, he is the darling of London society. As far as Adam Freeman is concerned though, Lysander is just another spoiled aristocrat.
A wealthy mill owner, Adam has no time for the frivolous world of the ton, but when his younger brother becomes engaged to Althea Winterbourne, he reluctantly agrees to be introduced to society–with the Winterbourne clan’s golden boy as his guide.
Resigning himself to a few days of boredom, Adam is surprised to learn that there is much more to Lysander than his perfect surface. But will Adam have the courage to introduce Lysander Winterbourne to his own secret self?
Mr. Winterbourne’s Christmas:
Lysander Winterbourne has been living happily at Edgeley Park for the last eighteen months. By day he is Adam Freeman’s estate manager, by night, his lover…but Adam never speaks of his feelings and Lysander has no idea whether their relationship is any more than a convenient arrangement for Adam.
When the two men are invited to Winterbourne Abbey for a family Christmas, matters quickly come to a head. Snowed in at the Abbey with a house full of guests, Lysander has to face up to shocking revelations, long-held secrets and a choice he never expected to have to make…

I loved these books!
I’ve had a copy of Introducing Mr. Winterbourne for quite a while but for some reason I never got around to reading it. When the opportunity came up to review a copy of Mr. Winterbourne’s Christmas (book 2) I finally took the time to read book 1 first and I’m glad I did.
Both of these books are pretty quick reads. Book 1 is about 57 pages while book 2 is about 111 pages (according to Goodreads.com). While you could probably read just book 2 on its own, I strongly recommend reading book 1 first (it’s currently free).
Lysander Winterbourne isn’t heir to the title of Earl that his father holds but he doesn’t really care about that. What he really wants is to manage the family estate and put things back in order after his father’s gambling has put the estate deeply in debt; however, his father won’t hear of it.
Lysander’s sister is going to marry Adam Freeman’s brother and Adam has agreed to pay off the Earl’s debts. Lysander caught Adam’s eye and when he finds out that they have similar tastes he offers Lysander the opportunity to come manage an estate that he recently purchased and is badly in need of repairs.
Mr. Winterbourne’s Christmas picks up a year or so later and finds both men living happily together but neither has declared himself to the other so both are having self-doubts about their relationship. When Lysander and Adam are both invited (summoned) back to the Earl’s estate for Christmas neither is overjoyed but they are happy to spend the holiday together as they were apart last year.
There are a lot of things going on in this story and it was interesting and engaging to read. When it comes to historical M/M stories I always feel so bad for the MCs (main characters) because they risk prison time or worse, if their love is discovered. At the same time, I love reading about how they manage to overcome the obstacles to their love and get an HEA.
I don’t know if there will be more stories in this series or not but a couple of very interesting sub-plots/characters were introduced and I wouldn’t mind reading more stories set in this world.
I fell in love with historical M/M stories several years ago but I hadn’t read any for a while (until now). After reading these two delightful books I must seek out and read more of Joanna Chambers’ work.

Joanna lives in Scotland with her family and finds time to write by eschewing sleep and popular culture.
