From New York Times bestselling author Jacquelyn Frank comes a blazing hot novel in her thrilling series featuring four immortal warrior brothers whose fate lies with themselves as much as with their stars.

After being chained to a star to burn endlessly as punishment for stealing immortality from the gods, Jaykun has been unshackled to wage war alongside his brothers. But his freedom comes with a price: Each night Jaykun must still suffer—his body burning from the inside out. One early morning, recovering from his torment, he encounters a beautiful stranger on the beach. Naked from her midnight-black hair to her sandy toes, she approaches him with starry-eyed innocence and the unmistakably full body of a woman.

Soon Jaykun is swept up with the force of a comet, his desire for this woman hotter than any sun. His brothers fear he is blinded by her radiant beauty, and that she has been sent by their enemies to seduce and destroy him. Jileana is indeed from another world—one Jaykun cannot begin to imagine. But will their passion burn brightly enough to light the way through the darkness that threatens to consume all in its path?

A ride through two very different cultures where love rises to conquers all.

Once upon a time there were four brothers that angered the gods by drinking from the fountain of immortality… well, that is the premise for The Immortal Brothers series. I will preface things right here by saying I haven’t read the first two in the series and not because I don’t have them. Believe it or not, they are on my tbr pile at home. Unfortunately, I’m not home at the moment. That didn’t stop me from reading Bound By Sin. Although it’s nice to read a series in order it’s not always necessary. When I found myself in the mood for a Jacquelyn Frank novel I was glad to find Bound by Sin in my ebook collection. I’ve come to expect great world building and paranormal romances when I pick up a book by Ms. Frank. Again I wasn’t disappointed.Jaykun, while not the oldest of his siblings is the head of the armies which war and conquer in the name of Weysa, Goddess of conflict and war. The story opens with Jaykun mortally wounded and fighting on in his endeavor to conquer the port city of Kriza. It doesn’t take you long to figure out there is something “other” about Jaykun. He is definitely more than a mere mortal. He’s also a very serious warrior that has given up on the pleasures of the flesh and the false promises of love. So, when he is rescued from his enemies by Jileana one morning, he is surprised to find himself intrigued and aroused by the naked water sprite. It’s obvious she isn’t Krizan and the Krizan warriors run at her appearance amongst them. So just where does the naked sprite come from?

Having spied upon Jaykun in a hidden cove as he burns and boils the water he rests in, Jileana is curious. Humans mystify her but this one more so than any other. After four nights of observing him, Jileana agrees to accompany Jaykun as he and his army occupy the conquered city of Kriza. However, her agreement is for seven days only. Seven days of interacting with humans, eating the wonderfully different human foods and indulging in some of the hottest sex she’s ever known. But then, as all things, her idyllic vacation must come to an end. Jileana has a limited window in which to return home. Of course, her visit isn’t all idyllic bliss and fun. A conquered city doesn’t mean that all factions have truly given up. So it’s a case of watching your back for the knife in the dark. At the same time, the idea of heading home isn’t all too appealing either.

Where the two of them might both have anticipated working the other out of their systems, life doesn’t work that way when two people are meant to be. Intrigued with what makes each other tick, Jaykun decides to travel back to Jileana’s home as an ambassador for his goddess. Jaykun is in for just a few surprises and quickly comes to realize that playing the ambassador and compromise or the order of business in this strange new world. At the same time perhaps he has just a few things to offer as well.

I loved watching Jileana and Jaykun as they are both taken out of their culture and exposed to another. Watching the two of them fall for each other was satisfying and yet so frustrating as Jaykun continued to deny the existence of love. Of course, things are bound to heat up and conflicts abound that will see these two to their HEA. The overall series arc has me captured in its snare. I will most definitely be finding my copies of the first two in the series as soon as I get home. In the meantime, I’m on to Bound In Darkness, the fourth and final novel in the series. Be sure to look for it when it releases on November 24th.
