I’ve never been romantic. Just ask my ex-wife.
Since she broke up with me, I get my needs met any time I want, without putting my heart on the line. Exactly how I like it.
But when she is called overseas and leaves me with our child, my bachelor lifestyle ends faster than you can say, “Daddy, I want a pony.”
I need help.
Problem is, help’s come in the form of an incredibly hot nanny.
My employee.
Who is much younger than me.
And also … a guy.
I watch Scott care for my kid and can’t help feeling like he clicks into place in her life.
When he looks at me, though … I get an entirely different feeling. One that makes me long for things I can’t have.
Like him.
Unmanageable is a contemporary m/m age gap romance about a starry-eyed nanny who wants hot-air balloon rides and singing telegrams and a grumpy single dad who most definitely does not.

So romantic!
I love it when there’s a cute kiddo that becomes the catalyst for romance between her dad and her manny.
Luke is a workaholic who doesn’t seem to know how to chill out. When his ex-wife takes an overseas assignment, he moves back to Vermont to care for their daughter Addi. He can work remotely from there but the demands of working and taking care of his daughter get to be too much for him so he hires Scott to care for her while he works.
Scott is terrible at money management and he’s in danger of being evicted. He loves kids so he answers the nanny wanted ad that Luke places. Much to his surprise he is hired. Scott wants to be loved so much that he always thinks he’s in love with whoever it is that he’s seeing when the reality is that they aren’t on the same page. When he feels an extreme attraction to Luke, he swears that he won’t make the same mistake again.
Luke and Scott soon start hooking up and Luke isn’t looking for anything more. As they become closer Luke knows that Scott wants to be romanced but he’s not sure he knows how to do that. I love how Luke finally figured out what he needed to do (with a little help from his friends).
The epilogue for this story is really wonderful. I’m still fairly new to Leslie McAdam’s writing. Most of her books are M/F and I’m pretty much only reading M/M romance these days. I really hope that she continues writing M/M stories because I think her writing is wonderful.
