What we were…
Sean found love once, with his college roommate, Trevor, and Trevor’s best friend, Charlotte.
The missing piece, Sean made it possible for Trevor and Charlotte to find love too.
But then Sean left and took the love with him.
What we are…
Now an FBI agent, Sean is back in town, ten years later, to investigate a murder.
A case that pits him against his ex-lovers–Charlotte, a local detective, and Trevor, a literature professor sucked into the Shakespearean mystery.
Everyone guards their hearts, but before long, desire sparks anew the feelings that burned hot a decade ago.
That still burn true.
What we may be…
Love is within their grasp again, but as the killer escalates, it’s more than just their hearts and futures on the line.
Sean, Charlotte, and Trevor will need to work together to solve the case.
If they can’t, lives will be lost and pieces of their love gone for good.

I couldn’t put it down!
Here’s yet another book where I don’t know how to begin my review. This story is fan-effing-tastic! It’s been ages since I read an MMF ménage book and I couldn’t have picked a better one to break that dry spell.
I haven’t read a lot of books by Layla Reyne (too many books, not enough time) but the ones that I have read I’ve loved. She is a very versatile writer, penning romantic suspense and contemporary romance equally well.
The blurb really doesn’t need any expounding on; it was definitely enough to make me want to read this story. This book had my emotions all over the place – up and down more than once. Layla Reyne was a master at giving readers more than one read-herring to follow. Just when I thought I had things figured out, she showed me that I wasn’t nearly as smart as I thought I was.
There was one specific thing I really loved about this book (as well as many other things) and that was there was no shaming or negative comments about the poly relationship between Sean, Trevor and Charlie.
There were many great secondary characters in this book but I was particularly intrigued by Sean’s FBI friend, Marsh. I was really happy to read a note at the end of the book that indicates Marsh will be getting a series; I hope we don’t have to wait too long.
