Arawn, Lord of the Underworld conceived his Huntsmen to defeat the Unseelie reigning terror on earth, to imprison them in the deepest bowels of hell. He cursed them to hold the barriers of hell itself with their suffering. Unfortunately, his very curse has been turned on his beloved children, his Hunters. For a millennium his Hunters have willing suffered to keep the barriers in place. Only one of his sons remains free from the torments of hell. Still his son is not totally free for even he is bound.

Calan, eldest and leader of the hunt led his brethren into a trap eons ago. Now he suffers from the guilt as he lies chained to a wall for eons, that is until his soul touches a young half fae woman trying to escape the murderous intent of the slaugh. In one rash move he ties his soul to hers, his mate. He imparts the secrets she’ll need to survive and extracts her promise that she’ll return. But years speed by as he awaits her return. This woman he has chosen to mate, this woman he has imbued with his love, this woman he will give anything for…

Harley has spent a lifetime sheltered and at times imprisoned. But as she turns eighteen she has decided it’s time to break free from the prison of home and fly the coup. Unfortunately, in sheltering her from the things that rule the night her parents have sheltered her from the truth as well. They’ve kept from her, her heritage. Learning you are the daughter of all that is evil and that you are only a hairsbreadth from turning yourself would be a shock to anyone. Watching your family brutally slain by a red cap and his slaugh then living life on the run would be a nightmare for anyone. Her only salvation lay in the disembodied ghost that imparted what she needed to know to stay one step ahead of danger… and sometimes not even that.

A trip home brings things full circle and she is once more connected to her ghost… but is he her ghost or the love and salvation she craves? The battle has just begun and fate is about to demand sacrifices all around.

Hunter Deceived is a great start to the Wild Hunt series. I can’t wait to read Hunter Forsaken. If you are looking for something just a bit dark and full of the fantasy of the wild hunt, gods and wicked unseelie and yet full of hot, steamy love then the Wild Hunt series promises to deliver.

A long moment passed where they watched each other, two strangers on the verge of becoming so much more. The full impact hit her, left her a little shaky inside but not anxious. No, excitement sped her pulse.
She licked her lips, already envisioning what they’d do together. “So, am I right?”
He slid his hungry gaze to her breasts. The points stood erect, and the sheen of her skin betrayed how hot she’d gotten from touching herself.

She flicked her gaze from his long fingers holding her nipple to his face and nodded. “Do it again.”
One corner of his mouth rose. He rolled the tip, and she gasped. Another tug clenched her core. “Beautiful. I can’t wait to watch that look pass over your face when I fuck you.”
She whimpered.
The smile giving him a roguish look turned wicked. “You do want me to ram my cock inside you and make you come apart around my dick”—he ran the tip of his tongue over his upper lip—“don’t you?”
“I…I…” She couldn’t get the words out.
He released her hands and sat back so he knelt between her thighs. Her attention shifted from the desire stamped on his face to the long length of his erection molded by his pants.
