How hard can it be to guard the country’s biggest rockstar?</strong
As a SEAL officer, I’m no stranger to danger, but running my own security firm is a new challenge. Finding the right bodyguard for each client isn’t easy. Our next gig? My little brother’s best friend, rock god Ezra Moon, has a security crisis. Ezra is convinced I’m the right man for the job, but I’m not so sure.
From crowd surfing to infamous pictures, Ezra is known for taking risks. It’s no wonder his record label thinks he needs a keeper on tour.
But there’s not a tour bus big enough to contain our incendiary attraction. Ezra and his antics push every last one of my buttons, but the real problem is how much I want to kiss some sense into him. He’s a client, and angry make-out sessions aren’t the answer. Yet we keep finding ourselves alone and burning up the sheets until our secret fling threatens to scorch both of us.
I’ve spent my whole life running from the spotlight, trying to distance myself from my notorious father. Ezra wants to live his best life on the biggest stage. A future seems impossible, but our feelings are undeniable. Can I admit how hard I’ve fallen for Ezra without losing everything?
HARD JOB is book two in a brand-new SEAL bodyguard series. It features a reluctant SEAL bodyguard, a mouthy rock star with a heart of gold, molten chemistry, and pie. Lots of pie. Also, all the high heat, big emotions, and found family feels readers expect from this fan-favorite military romance author. Join A-List security for this new series featuring former SEALs and the celebrity clients who win their hearts. Happy endings and no cliffhangers guaranteed!
Content/Trigger Discussion: a Note From the Author:
I always strive to make my books a safe space and a fictional escape for as many readers as possible. That said, HARD JOB does lightly touch on some past incidents of addiction and recovery (secondary character brief mention), bad parenting, PTSD, and realities of military service including loss of friends/fellow service people. None of these topics is shown in detail on the page, but I wanted readers who may find such issues challenging to be aware that they do get discussed. To my many readers whose lives have been personally touched by issues surrounding dysfunctional or toxic family members, I see you and your courage to heal and grow. A special thank you to those who have bravely shared parts of their journey with me.

Sexy and hot; I loved it!
It’s been too long since I’ve read a book by Annabeth Albert and Hard Job was a fantastic way to jump back in. While this is book two in the A-List Security series you won’t be lost if you missed the first one (but it might make you want to go back and read it). I somehow missed Tough Luck and now I definitely want to read it. (I actually bought the audiobook recently but haven’t had time to listen to it yet.)
Duncan’s new security firm has been hired to protect Ezra, a popular rockstar who also happens to be his younger brother’s best friend. The problem is that Ezra wants Duncan to be his bodyguard and won’t accept anyone else. Ezra had a crush on Duncan when he was younger and now that he’s all grown up that attraction is back.
Duncan’s infamous Hollywood father has made him want to stay out of the spotlight. He’s determined to keep everything above board with Ezra but the attraction is sizzling between them. Getting down and dirty with his famous client isn’t in the cards – it would jeopardize the reputation of his new firm – but how can he resist the attraction he feels for Ezra.
I love how down-to-earth Ezra is. He’s an only child, born to two wonderful parents late in life. He loves spending time with them and enjoying his mother’s cooking. Duncan’s father, on the other hand, is a first-class jerk who’s only concern is for himself. He’s been awful to Duncan’s younger brother and he won’t accept that Duncan wants to be his own man and make his own way in life.
I love how wonderfully descriptive Annabeth Albert’s writing is. I can picture, in my mind, the places she writes about like I was there. I’m from Ohio and that’s where Ezra’s parents live; the writing made me want to hunt down the town where they live and experience it for myself. 😊
This book is full of feels and I loved it so much. The sexy time is HOT AF, I think it’s some of the hottest stuff I’ve read by Annabeth. When Ezra gets Duncan all loved up and he begs for more – WOW!
Both of these guys care for each other deeply and want to make a relationship work. Unfortunately, they each take a few missteps and cause each other some pain but that just made it so much sweeter when they finally figure things out.
I’m looking forward to reading the next book in this series, coming this fall!
