Griff
Walking away from my marriage was my idea of a fresh start.
My kid is in college, my ex-wife and I are on good terms … but being single in my forties is a world different to being single in my teens.
But my best friend, Heath, has my back like he always does and is ready to take me out and show me how the bachelor life is done.
He was never supposed to show me literally.
After we wake up in bed together, I can’t stop looking at him differently, and one thing becomes abundantly clear.
I talk a big talk about us only being friends, but my platonic rulebook has gone out the window.
Heath
When my best friend comes to me for help post-divorce, I’m only too happy to impart wisdom on him.
After all, Griffin isn’t my type, but even I can tell he’s a complete lumbersnack. Good with his hands, kind eyes, and a killer smile. All the guys and gals are gonna eat him alive.
But the more time we spend together, the less “not my type” he becomes. I’m the one who can’t get enough of him.
Neither of us are interested in a relationship, so what’s a little fun between friends?

Sweet and sexy!
Friends-to-lovers is one of my top two favorite romance tropes and it’s even better when they are best friends. Platonic Rulebook has just the right combination of sweet and sexy. The chemistry between Griff and Heath is sizzling but neither of them realizes it until Griff is no longer tied to his marriage vows. There is so much I could say about this story. Reading it was a joy and I finished it much more quickly than I normally do a book of similar length.
The decision for Griff and Poppy to part ways was mutual and amicable. What Griff didn’t expect was for Poppy to remove herself from running the resort hotel that they built together with the help of Heath. Griff knows nothing about how the resort office runs; he’s always been the one fixing anything that breaks and the person who keeps the grounds looking beautiful. Thank goodness for Heath; he knows everything that Poppy knows.
Heath is determined to help Griff get adjusted to dating again but he’s not prepared for the shift in how they feel about each other – especially since they have to keep things quiet until Griff’s son, Felix, knows about his parents pending divorce.
The real friendship between Griff and Heath radiated off of the pages, even when the intimate relationship didn’t come into play. I loved how concerned each of them was for the well being of their families. Griff didn’t want to do anything to hurt his son Felix, and he also didn’t want to cause his ex-wife to doubt that he was faithful while they were still together. Heath’s concern for his mother was also touching. The solution that he and Griff worked out wasn’t really surprising but I still felt good about it.
I almost forgot to mention the epilogue. Set one-year later, I loved finding out where Griff and Heath’s relationship took them. I’m looking forward to reading the next book in this series.
