A Dashwood of Sense and Sensibility By Anyta Sunday
Genre: Contemporary Romance, GLBTQ, MM
Released: November 19, 2021
Publisher: Self-Published
Series: Love, Austen, Book 6
Length: 296 Pages
Two Dashwood brothers. Two dashing romances.
Sensible, reasonable, responsible.
Noah Dashwood is the practical type. Now the beloved family home’s been sold to settle their father’s debts, Noah’s number one priority is finding a new place to live for himself and his brother. But the old house’s last gift to him is completely unexpected: Wade Ferrars, literally walking over broken glass to shake his hand, sexy and lovely and everything a guy could dream of. He even makes Noah . . . believe in romance.
Except . . .
Why so hot and cold?
What is he hiding?
Idealistic, energetic, spontaneous.
Oh God. Disaster. No money, no home, no man . . . Zach Dashwood should really, like, get a steady paying job. Help his brother out. Ohhh, maybe Ask Austen Studios has room for a talented musician? Maybe he should just nip in there . . .
This guy with terrible tie-taste is really something. Working on a Sunday, poor thing. Okay, they should hang out, maybe he’ll put in a good word with the boss—
Oh, he is the boss.
The clever, funny, decent, well-earning, sexy boss.
Well that’s . . .
Why has this guy not been snapped up yet? New mission!
Two very different brothers. Both in for a surprise.
A modern gay retelling of Jane Austen’s Sense and Sensibility

Why did I wait so long to read this???
Why did I wait so long to read this? Well, I over estimated my ability to read X number of books during the first holiday season in over a year where I actually had to participate in social events. So, my apologies to Anyta Sunday for this rather late review.
This book deserves 5 stars x 2 for the not-so-simple reason that it is two wonderful love stories in one book. I’m pretty sure that I’ve only read one other book that combined two love stories like this one does (I loved that one, too). A Dashwood of Sense and Sensibility is exactly the kind of book that made me fall in love with Anyta Sunday’s writing. It’s a little bit quirky and it’s slow burn at its absolute best.
I need to say that I have never read any Jane Austen books (so sue me) but I have read a few MM retellings other than Anyta’s and I’ve enjoyed them. For each book that was a retelling there were haters and low star raters and that’s fine, to each his own. But for me A Dashwood of Sense and Sensibility was perfectly put-together. I enjoyed how the two different love stories were given their own space in the book and yet comingled/overlapped in the best way.
I’m not going to rehash the story. One benefit of being a late reviewer is that there are already plenty of reviews that have done so. This has been a wonderful series and I’m sorry to see it end. Even though I rarely do so, I read the teaser chapter for her next book, There for You, the first in her upcoming Love & Family series. The ending of that teaser chapter left me eagerly awaiting this book.

I’m a big, BIG fan of slow-burn romances. I love to read and write stories with characters who slowly fall in love.
Some of my favorite tropes to read and write are: Enemies to Lovers, Friends to Lovers, Clueless Guys, Bisexual, Pansexual, Demisexual, Oblivious MCs, Everyone (Else) Can See It, Slow Burn, Love Has No Boundaries.
I write a variety of stories, Contemporary MM Romances with a good dollop of emotion, Contemporary lighthearted MM Romances, and even a splash of fantasy.
My books have been translated into German, Italian, French, Spanish, and Thai.
