A great story to end the series on.

and V.L. Locey
Genre: Contemporary, Sports Romance, Hockey, GLBTQ, MM, New Adult
Released: May 29, 2017
Publisher: Love Lane Books Ltd
Series: Owatonna U Hockey, Book 3
Cover Design: Meredith Russell
Length: 56,000 approx.
Senior year is here, and everything is on the line. Benoit’s time to shine in the crease is now, and he’s going to do everything he can to make sure those professional scouts take notice. He’s earned a great reputation for his skills in the net, and his laid-back demeanor is his key to maintaining his cool when things get heated in the goal crease.
As the Eagles roar into a new season, Ben’s laser-sharp focus is shattered by his attraction to Ethan Girard, the team’s new defensive consultant. Trying his best to ignore the budding friendship that’s taking a hard, fast turn into something far more passionate, Ben is determined to keep his mind on the sport he loves and not let his feelings for the handsome older man creep into his performance. But love, like hockey, is wildly unpredictable, and soon Ben finds that he’s unable to distance himself from Ethan who is slowly and surely working himself into his heart.
Famed Boston defenseman, Ethan Girard, isn’t stupid. Celebrating his thirty-second birthday in the emergency room after breaking his leg, and with a warning that healing will be a long process, he knows he has to think about his future. He was drafted at eighteen, and he’s never known anything but hockey, but with no contract in place yet for the new season he considers that maybe it’s time for him to hang up his skates for good.
Volunteering to help out with the Owatonna Eagles fills his time, but from the moment he lays eyes on goalie Ben, he knows his world will never be the same again. Falling in lust is as easy as stealing his first kiss, but Ben refuses to engage. Has Ethan finally met his match?
When the lines between career and love blur, will Ethan and Ben find a way to create a future that will work for both of them?

A great story to end the series on.
Benoit deals with some heavy subject matter at times (racism and homophobia) but in the end it’s a very uplifting story and I loved it. It’s the third book in the Owatonna series and could probably be read as a standalone but I think you’ll enjoy it more if you read the other books in the series first. There are also characters from the Harrisburg Railers series and I can highly recommend that series, too.
Benoit knows that he needs to stay focused on his school work and his hockey. It’s his last year at Owatonna U and the last thing he needs is to fall for the guy who is volunteering to help his team.
Ethan Girard, most recently a D-man with Boston, is visiting his home town of Owatonna when he breaks his leg in an accident. While he’s sidelined, he volunteers to help with the Owatonna U hockey team. He is surprised at the spark of attraction he feels to their goalie, Benoit.
Benoit and Ethan eventually decide to stop fighting their attraction to each other but someone doesn’t want to see them together.
This story kept me glued to me ereader all evening. It has plenty of romance between Ben and Ethan with a side of suspense when someone sends threatening notes to Ben. I love how the book gives us Ben and Ethan’s story while at the same time bringing in characters from the first two books. As a huge fan of the Harrisburg Railers I also enjoyed the appearances of characters from that series.
All-in -all, Benoit was a great way to finish up this series and I was so happy to learn that the authors will be launching a new one that will focus on Ryker’s new team, the Raptors.
