The Master Will Appear By L.A. Witt, Narrated By Michael Ferraiuolo
Genre: Contemporary Romance, GLBTQ, MM
Released: January 2, 2018
Publisher: Self-Published
Dr. Mikhail “Misha” Budnikov takes one look at fellow fencer Ryan O’Connor and instantly knows his type. The undisciplined hothead is all ego with no finesse and even less control. In short, Misha’s pet peeves personified. To put the arrogant kid in check, Misha challenges him to a sparring match, which he predictably wins.
Not so predictably, Ryan asks him to be a mentor and show him how to fence. Startled by the moment of humility, Misha agrees.
What begins as fencing lessons becomes something much hotter, and before they know it, Misha is giving Ryan an entirely different kind of education. Dominance, submission, pain, pleasure-at the hands of an older, experienced man, a whole new world is opening up for Ryan.
As the trust deepens and their bond strengthens, though, Ryan retreats because that sham called love left him jaded long ago. Cynical beyond his years, he’s not letting his guard down, least of all for a thrice-divorced man twice his age.
Now Misha has to find a way to crack through those defenses…or accept defeat and walk away from the submissive who might just be the love of his life.

The Master Will Appear is an audio book that I could listen to over and over again, if only I had time and fewer books to read/listen to. Michael Ferriauolo’s performance is nothing short of outstanding. He does so many difference voices for this story that at times I would have sworn there was more than one narrator.
Please read the synopsis/summary/blurb as it describes the story much more concisely than I could. The Master Will Appear has several different tropes within it.
• It’s an age-gap story but I didn’t feel like that was dwelled on too much; so if you’re not a fan of the age-gap trope don’t let it scare you off.
• It’s also sort of a teacher/student story but not the forbidden type as Ryan is not Mikhail’s school student.
• It’s also a BDSM story. After Mikhail begins giving Ryan fencing lessons he realizes that Ryan might just be a perfect submissive for him.
This story is so hot and Michael’s performance so stunning that I only stopped listening the same day I started it because I couldn’t keep my eyes open any longer – and not because his voice was putting me to sleep. The next day I had to force myself not to start the book up again until evening because I knew once I started it I wouldn’t get anything else done. Some books I can listen to while doing other mundane tasks around the house but not this one. The Master Will Appear captured all of my attention and I couldn’t even think about doing anything else at the same time.
If you enjoy any of the tropes I mentioned above, and like M/M stories, you have to listen to this one. The writing is fantastic and the audio performance absolutely divine. Michael Ferriauolo is now tied for first place as my favorite audiobook performer.

L.A. Witt is an abnormal M/M romance writer who has finally been released from the purgatorial corn maze of Omaha, Nebraska, and now spends her time on the southwestern coast of Spain. In between wondering how she didn’t lose her mind in Omaha, she explores the country with her husband, several clairvoyant hamsters, and an ever-growing herd of rabid plot bunnies. She also has substantially more time on her hands these days, as she has recruited a small army of mercenaries to search South America for her nemesis, romance author Lauren Gallagher, but don’t tell Lauren. And definitely don’t tell Lori A. Witt or Ann Gallagher. Neither of those twits can keep their mouths shut…
