This One Moment By Stina Lindenblatt
Genre: Contemporary, Romance, New Adult, Rock Star
Released: April 5, 2016
Publisher: Loveswept
Series: Pushing Limits, Book 1
When Nolan Kincaid skipped town to chase the music career of his dreams, he knew he wouldn’t miss the reminders of his broken family—he wasn’t so sure he could forget the girl he left behind. Now his band is touring nonstop, the recording sessions go all night, and the groupies are crazed. But when he hears that Hailey Wilkins is in trouble, he drops everything.
Hailey thought she’d missed her chance with Nolan. Five years ago, the moment she realized she loved him was the moment he decided to leave. Now, when a brutal assault lands her in the ICU, Nolan flies straight to her bedside, acting like nothing’s changed. What’s a rock star like him doing, canceling shows and risking his record deal, just to nurse an old friend back to health? And why should Hailey believe he’ll stay this time?
With her attacker still at large, Nolan’s ready to rise to the occasion. He knows he let Hailey down once before, but he’s ready to give her everything, heart and soul—and he’ll fight for the chance to prove it.

This One Moment is the first book in the Pushing Limits series and it’s the first book I’ve ever read by Stina Lindenblatt. NetGalley was offering a copy of book 2 in this series, My Song for You and it sounded really good. Since I like to read series in order (even if they are standalone stories like these are) I decided to check out This One Moment. When I saw that it was on sale for 99 cents I bought it and read it.Second chance love stories are one of my favorite romance tropes but this one just didn’t work real well for me; it was just OK. I get that Nolan needed to get away from town because of what happened (no spoilers here) but I just don’t buy it that he wouldn’t get in touch with Hailey at all. She was supposed to be the love of his life. The story is told in alternating points of view with Nolan and Hailey being the narrators.
I read a lot of New Adult stories and, much to my surprise, I really enjoy most of them. The proliferation of the “F” word doesn’t bother me; neither does the use of a lot of swearing. I’ve also enjoyed reading other “rock star” books so it’s hard for me to put my finger on why I didn’t like this one more. I have to think that it must be the author’s style. I’m not saying there is anything wrong with her writing; just that I think it’s not really for me. I’m writing this review concurrent with writing one for My Song for You so I’m not basing my feelings on just this one book.
I think my feelings about this series really points out that not all readers are going to like all authors, even if the writing is good.

Born in Brighton England, I have lived in a number of countries, including England, the U.S, Finland, and Canada.
I have a Physical Education degree from the University of Calgary and a Master’s of Science in Exercise Physiology from the University of Alberta, where I specialized in energy metabolism. Definitely cool stuff (seriously, it is!). I also had the opportunity to work with elite athletes through the universities and at several sport-training facilities (you know, in case you’re wondering why I always have athletes in my stories). During my undergrad, I worked in Helsinki (Finland) for one summer, cleaning bathrooms and saunas in a recreation center for the elderly. The seniors were great. The bathrooms, not so much. I eventually became a pharmaceutical sales representative (not a great one may I add) and now I write full time.
In addition to writing fiction, I love photography, especially the close-up variety, and currently live in Calgary, Canada, with my husband and three kids.
