Dark, Suspenseful and magically erotic

Dark, Suspenseful and magically erotic

Being kidnapped on a regular basis, bled of your power and warned you will be the death of your mate… what would you do to save the life of the one and only potential mate you will ever have? Would you avoid him? Would you deny his claim? Katrina did and it’s tearing her apart day by day. They shared a few stolen moments in the past and she’s run far and wide to stay away ever since. Today her running has come to an end and as much as she would like to keep her mate at arms length, Jax is a power to be reckoned with.

Jax Chandler, New York alpha escapes torture and confinement by his mysterious abductors only to find the woman he once thought was his mate captured as well. As much as he would like to turn his back and walk away from the woman that almost caused a territorial war between her alpha brother’s pack and his own, he can’t. Now he wants answers and she’s going to give them to him… on her knees, on her back… anyway, he can get them. The road to submission won’t be an easy one with a mate descended of alphas, every bit as strong-willed as Katrina is. But oh, when it happens it is ever so sweet.

Jax leads us on a chase for answers from the boardrooms of New York to the magic infused New Orleans. Having only read the first in the series I was able to follow along easily even when people and events from previous books in the series were introduced. In fact, their introduction only made me want to read their stories as well. The pace is fairly fast. Having read Kade’s Dark Embrace I had an expectation for suspense and thrills. I wasn’t disappointed. You get wolves, vampires, witches, mages and demons. The latter, of course, adding that element of evil that keeps the thrills going. Speaking of expectations… Ms. Grosso definitely delivers the erotic heat. The light BDSM, exhibitionism, and ménage really amped things up. I’ll be looking forward to reading the others in the series as well as Jake and Ilsbeth’s story. The conflict between these two promises to be engaging. All in all, I am finding myself really into the Immortals of New Orleans series.
