Stuck in Between is book one in the Bound By Your Love series, however, each book can be read as a stand alone. Good thing, since I read book three first (Blue Persuasion)! With that in mind, I thought I might not be as invested in these characters since I’d had the advantage of some spoiler-ish previews. Not so!

Ms. Bennett has created a charismatic ensemble of friends in this series; characters I could relate to quite often but romantic enough to stir up my favorite fantasies and leave me wanting more. Boy, did this story stir up one of my favorite fantasies.

Stuck in Between is the story of Jacqs, who is literally, and much to her surprise, stuck in between the stalwart desires of two best friends, Red and Bond. Jacqs and Bond have history. Jacqs and Red have none. If anything, based on his behavior during the group’s weekly get togethers at his house, Jacqs has always assumed Red had absolutely no interest in her whatsoever.

Imagine Jacqs’s shock when Red out-of-the-blue professes his desire for her and pretty much stakes claim. He’s watched for years as Bond has played musical chairs with an endless string of women while keeping Jacqs dangling. Best friends or not, Red has had it with Bond’s blatant disregard for Jacqs feelings.

Coincidentally, Jacqs has also reached her breaking point with Bond. She dearly loves Bond as a friend, their sex is amazing, and in many ways he is a safe bet. No attachments, no heartbreak, right? Well, it’s too late for that. She’s been hurting for a long time and is only now admitting to it. Jacqs realizes she can’t conduct her life as Bond’s pinch hitter and has decided enough is enough. How convenient that Red has chosen now to reveal his deep feelings for her.

Red and Bond couldn’t be more different. Red, whose real name is Aiden, owns a security business, a house, a boat. He’s financially stable, mature, tall, and gorgeous in a Jamie Fraser kind of way. (For those of you not familiar with Outlander, look it up.) Bond, whose real name is Mitchell, likens himself to, you guessed it, James Bond. He’s charming to the nth degree, gorgeous in his own right with long-ish dark hair and eyes. But whereas Red is upfront and open, Bond has dark secrets that have caused him deep hurt.

Red’s seductive and sincere pursuit of Jacqs melts her heart and she agrees to give their relationship a try. As soon as Bond becomes aware of this he’s like a child who sees someone else playing with a long neglected toy. He wants Jacqs for himself. And yet he can’t or won’t make that final move to exclusivity. Grrr, this boy needs whopped upside the head.
Red, bless his heart, understands Jacqs’s feelings for Bond and comes up with a solution, hoping it will be short term at best.

The solution: Jacqs moves in with Red, they commit to being a couple and go forward with an exclusive relationship. At the same time, Bond may also have a sexual, but limited relationship with Jacqs as well as a room in Red’s house. Red will monitor Bond’s involvement with Jacqs. Jacqs is almost like a deer in the headlights. She can’t believe this is actually happening to her and she’s loving every minute of it, not to mention the intense, kinky sex with both men.
I absolutely love menage stories. This one was unique, as I’ve explained, however, the deep bond of friendship between the two men and their love for Jacqs made this a very touching and believable story. I only wish Ms. Bennett had given us more scenes with these three.
I highly recommend reading this beautiful story of love, friendship, and very hot kinky sex!
